Skyphos was forged from necessity.

For the past 30+ years, researchers have used microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip tools and techniques to develop tests for point-of-care diagnostics. For the last 30+ years these methods required semiconductor technology to create the channels and features. The expense and long lead times inherent in not only the mold process but the actual fabrication delays discoveries and implementation.

The Skyphos process fast-tracks discovery, prototyping, and production — allowing revisions over a much shorter timeframe and improving the results without increasing the costs. This is possible thanks to our patent-pending printer and materials technologies, plus our proprietary production processes.

Our 3D printing technology allows researchers to change designs on demand, bypassing months of development time and high price tags. Skyphos works with all drawing platforms and is the only 3D printer developed specifically for microfluidics.

The process is digital — with no molds ever — so design revisions are easy.
