ARMI: Bioprocess Technician (Stem Cell Culture, Tissue Engineering)

The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) is an industry-led public-private partnership that was created to address the technical and workforce development challenges associated with the scalable, consistent, cost-effective manufacture of tissue engineered medical products (TEMPs). As part of its technical effort, ARMI is developing the Tissue Foundry, an automated, modular manufacturing platform with which it will test and validate new manufacturing technologies and support the development of scalable TEMP manufacturing processes according to Quality by Design principles.

Position Description

ARMI is in need of a Bioprocess Technician to perform cell culture and help optimize manufacturing processes for TEMPs on the ARMI Tissue Foundry. This position will work on transitioning existing manual tissue engineering processes to scalable, automated, closed, manufacturing processes. The Bioprocess Specialist will work cross-functionally both internally and externally. The role will be highly focused in bench lab processing and analysis in order to facilitate the successful tech transfer and automation of various manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Function as technical lead on process development activities, including process gaps analysis, definition of process design space, engineering runs and process validations
  • Execute DOE-based experimental study designs that support the development of flexible cell and TEMP manufacturing processes
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and support the development of written technical reports, summaries, presentations, and batch records
  • Collaborate internally and externally to achieve ARMI’s technical strategic objectives
